Astoria Choir: Lessons of Stone

The Astoria Choir, artistic director Adam Eggleston, will premiere Lessons of Stone, a new commission in honor of their 10th Anniversary. Lessons of Stone is a site-specific work that spans four different galleries of the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, allowing the audience to wander from one audiovisual experience to another at their own pace. Originally scheduled for June 2021, it will be rescheduled for their 2022-2023 season.

Reunion: Live Remote Performance May 10, 2021

Joyful Noise, Cambridge Common Voices, the Central Illinois Youth Chorus, and cellist Martin Laufhutte presented the livestream premiere of “Reunion” for mixed choir, treble choir, and cello.  Ninety singers ranging in age from 9 to 81 came together over Zoom to perform a setting of an original poem expressing the bittersweet emotions of a family reunion after separation due to the pandemic.
